Welcome to summer at The Canyons Resort – One of the country’s largest winter resorts offers you an equally large number of summer activities and events. In addition to fresh mountain air, The Canyons provides luxury accommodations, gourmet dining, scenic gondola rides, breath-taking hikes, expansive array of mountain bike trails and live music concerts.

The Canyons Resort provides our summer visitors with three world-class hotels to choose from – The crown jewel is the Grand Summit Resort Hotel & Conference Center, a AAA Four Diamond-rated property. Just steps away from the Flight of the Canyons gondola, The Canyons Grand Summit Hotel indulges guests with a wide variety of lodging options, gourmet dining, heated outdoor pool, health club and spa.

 

 

 

 

Horseback Riding:  Experience the beauty of the mountains in Park City or Midway. Rides depart throughout the day from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Choose the hour long, hour and a half or four hour lunch tour. Children must be at least 8 years old. Please call for more information and to make reservations for the ride that best suits you. 

  

Summer Gondola Rides:  The Flight of The Canyons gondola captures panoramic views of the Wasatch Mountains, The Canyons Resort and Park City as The Flight of The Canyons gondola speeds you to your alpine summer adventure at 8,000 feet. Mountain bikes are welcomed, however no dogs are permitted.

Hot Air Balloon Rides with  Breathtaking Views...  Looking for something memorable to do on your vacation?  Early morning hot air balloon rides give you access to the most breathtaking views of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains and the valleys below. The Adventure Desk located in the lobby of The Canyons Grand Summit Hotel can arrange your balloon ride in winter and summer months.  

Mountain Biking: Join us this summer for great single track trails high in the mountains. Ride the gondola to 8,000 feet with your bike and access some of Park City's most popular trails including the famous Mid-Mountain Trail or Wasatch Crest trail! 

Whitewater Rafting: Come navigate the class II whitewater of the Weber River. Experience the thrill of the rapids, scenic geological sites and nature at its best. One guide leads each five-passenger raft. Transportation, gear, and lunch are provided. Trip will last 4-5 hours including lunch. Children must be at least 4 years of age and be able to swim. 

Alpine Disc Golf:  Our nine-hole alpine course is located mid-mountain just steps away from Red Pine Lodge.  Public access to the course is free with the purchase of a daily gondola pass or your season pass.

WACHUSETT SUMMER CAMPS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Canyons Resort offers Summer Camps for children 6 weeks through 12 years. Adventures include swimming, yoga, arts & crafts, nature hikes, gondola rides, field trips, indoor & outdoor games. 

Camp Hopi
6 weeks through 24 months

Camp Nova
2-3 years

Camp Jicarilla
3-6 years, must be potty trained

Camp Tiponi
6.5 years- 12 years

Important Information; The fire danger is extreme! Smoking is prohibited in all areas.

  • Sheep grazing occurs on these mountains. Keep pets leashed at all times and avoid herd dogs as they may become aggressive.
  • The last cabin down on the gondola is 4:00 p.m. Please allow yourself ample time to return to top of gondola.
  • The Flight of The Canyons gondola is open Thursdays-Sundays 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • Bikers must yield to hikers; both must yield to horseback riders.
  • Trails are not patrolled by resort staff on a regular basis.

IMBA Rules of the Trail

1. Ride On Open Trails Only.
2. Leave No Trace.
3. Control Your Bicycle!
4. Always Yield to Other Trail Users.
5. Never Scare Animals.
6. Plan Ahead and Prepare.
7. Always Wear a Helmet.

Mountain Safety

Be aware that your safety is directly affected by your judgement. Know your limits, and stay within them. When in doubt, slow down or turn back. Eat and drink before you hit the trail. Take extra water and high-energy food with you on the trail. Wear adequate footgear with good arch and ankle support and non-skid soles. Mountain weather may change at any time without warning. Thunder and lightning are very common. Be prepared for bad weather. Always carry extra, warm and waterproof clothing, including a hat. Be aware that most trails are crossed by, and shared by, maintenance vehicles. Hike or bike only on designated trails. Let your experience and ability determine your choice of route and travel time. This is a partial list. There are inherent risks in the sport. Be safety conscious.

Low Impact Recreation

Please respect the land: Please respect public and private property; stick to the trails and please don't pick or trample plants.
Please respect the wildlife: We share this mountain with the wildlife. Please observe animals from a respectful distance and don't feed them.
Please respect the resources: Carry out trash you bring in or any you encounter along the way.
Please respect the resort: Heed posted signs as they are there to guide and inform you as well as to protect you. Please respect them and leave them in place for the benefit of others. Please hike and bike only on designated trails.
Please respect the air: Consider carpooling to The Canyons.
